Effective date: April 1, 2026
This policy is filed under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Equivalent processes apply for copyright claims under other applicable laws.
1. Overview
Quoli hosts user-generated content including reviews, photos, videos, and Questions submissions, primarily on behalf of Shopify merchants. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied and is accessible on a merchant's storefront via Quoli, or on quoli.io itself, you may submit a takedown notice as described below.
We respond to valid notices in accordance with the DMCA and applicable international copyright laws.
2. Designated agent
Quoli has designated the following agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement:
Quoli DMCA Agent
Quoli, Inc.
Email: support@quoli.io (subject line: "DMCA Notice")
Postal address available on request
Notices submitted by other channels (chat, sales email, social media DMs) may not be processed.
3. Filing a takedown notice
To be effective under the DMCA, your written notification must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of those works.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (a URL is best).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
4. What happens next
On receiving a valid takedown notice we will:
- Acknowledge receipt within 2 business days.
- Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the affected user (the merchant or shopper who posted the content) of the takedown and provide them with a copy of the notice (with your contact details, unless you have explicitly requested otherwise).
- Inform the affected user of their right to file a counter-notice.
5. Filing a counter-notice
If you believe that material you posted on Quoli was wrongly removed, you may file a counter-notice. To be effective, your counter-notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, the federal court for any judicial district in which Quoli may be found).
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of such person.
On receiving a valid counter-notice we will forward it to the original complainant and inform them that we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they file a court action seeking a restraining order.
6. Repeat infringers
Quoli will, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, terminate the accounts of users (merchants or shoppers) who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright. We assess each case on its facts.
7. False claims
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages. Do not file false claims.
8. International users
For copyright complaints arising outside the United States, we accept notices that conform to the equivalent local copyright law (for example, the EU Copyright Directive, the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, or the Canadian Copyright Act). Send your notice to the same email address with your local legal basis identified.
9. Contact
